Do you shoot in aperture priority or manual mode?
When I started my wedding photography business, I used to shoot aperture priority because it was easy and to to be honest.…I was scared….Yes! scared of being a little delay in shooting-while-thinking and adjusting everything behind my camera. I didn’t want to miss any moment during a wedding.
I then had to challenged myself to shoot manually because my couples where paying for a service and I felt I wasn’t giving them 100%. It took me a while to find the perfect balance between all three (iso/aperture/shutter speed) without thinking about it.
If you are a photographer thinking about how to start shooting in manual mode to help you produce the perfect photo, the best advice is just do it. It may seem overwhelming at first but after a while if you practice every day, it gets easier and somehow you will establish a feel for how much iso/aperture and shutter speed you will need in order to achieve what you want. Remember!…Your camera many not be always right.
I am now happy to say that takes me no time and it just come natural to me to change the settings when needed.
